Build Your 'Drobe - Staple Items for 2016

So 2016 is almost upon us and I am nowhere near ready (insert sweating yet smiling emoji), but just because I'm not, doesn't mean that you can't be... Hopefully this post can help you build your killer new 'drobe from scratch. I've included some staple items, for any occasion that you can tailor to make your own (yay!).

1. The Pant
Culottes - 2016 brings times of modesty and sophistication, culottes are perfect for being classy while    remaining sassy. Try a high waisted pair with a body suit or crop for a finished look, or pair with sneakers for comfort and casualness.

2. The Skirt
The midi - unfortunately overlooked, this skirt is still just as fun was any A-Line, Mini or Pencil skirt. Can be for casual or fun. Skirts are great to accessorise with and can take your outfit from "plain jane" to ready for the runway. Another great way to add your own style to your outfit.

Denim - Is casual and chic and extremely easy to find at pretty much any market! I love vintage ones that have a bit of character in them.

3. The Dress
V neck - a go to party dress, short and funky. These metallic ones are my fave, there statement enough to not have to worry about accessorising.

4. The Shoe/s (you can never have too many!)
Sneaker - for casual comfort. Try a white tennis shoe and have peace of mind that it will go with pretty much anything.

The Heel - Sometimes less is more, let these shoes do the talking while you do the walking. These lizard textured heels and add a touch more boom to your outfit.

A rockin' good chop...

Well hello once again,

This week after some thought (and a little procrastination) I've yet again constructed a post that hopefully will give you guidance along the path of self-expression.

I'm a creature of habit. So when the hairdresser asks "What will it be today love?" I will almost always reply with "just a trim thanks". Hence why my brown locks have always hung nicely at a safe backbone length. But I've come to the realisation that safe isn't always a good word.

Maybe the JLaw pixie cut or hot pink tousles or goldilocks' honey blonde are a bit too much of a change so instead I opted for something different, a little edgey and still to my taste. I went for the "Lived In" look. Its textured layers give it a shaggy and rockin' groove. Taking a risk, no matter how small it might be, can definitely make a difference in your confidence.

Not only does it look cool but, its ahead of it's time! Refinery29 reports that it will be super "in" during 2016. Don't forget all the celebs who's dos are working this uber cool trend!

I hope you can all return back to your lovely lives after reading this with a newfound knowledge that it can be subtle changes can turn you into a FaSion Girl...

So you want to be a "fashion girl"...

Hellooo summerr (and readers)...

First and foremost, please excuse my absence of the past hundred years! I'm sure some of you might be able to relate when I say life can get in the way of a lot of things... But this summer I'm not making excuses and will most definitely be posting on a less sporadic basis.

Anyway, since I last left you in Autumn I've been reading and researching (as well as watching netflix) until the early hours of morning on trends, whose wearing what and style on a budget. All things that essentially are general knowledge for any "fashion girl". What is a fashion girl you might ask? Well according to Urban Dictionary, a fashion girl is a really cool girl who likes to read about and see all fashion shows and wear from it... always wears the latest in fashion and someone who makes up her own rules in fashion. Oh if it were so easy to make up your own rules in fashion --- hang on... it is!

This summer, make your own rules, express your self uniquely and work it with confidence then you my friend also can be... a FaShion Girl. So this post hasn't really been a post, or an update but a bit of a long (and maybe unnecessary) rant on how this summer I can help you find your own style and own it! There will be a'plentayy of DIYs as well as all the essential information from the world of fashion you need to know to be ready for summer, the festive season and the new year!

I'll leave you with some of my favourite pics of iconic fashion girls and their best looks...

Live on the edge, wear your pjs.

Add statement sunnies to complete any look
